It's possible that Amazon will could update the mobile Kindle app to not work on a Mac, but I'd guess that old versions would keep working. You can use iMazing to do this, and you do not need to use the paid version (it will nag you).

Unfortunately, it's not one of the easy apps to put on ('easy' apps will just use the Mac App store's iPhone & iPad tab) so for this, you'll need to sideload it, it takes a few minutes, but it's way easier and better than the Android option. My suggested solution in the past has been to put an Android emulator on your desktop or laptop and install the Kindle mobile app, it's bulky and slow to boot but it works (I think it eats a lot of power too) on the older Macs, Bluestacks doesn't run at all on the M1 currently. The problem with emailing MOBIs to Amazon is that they don't download with the desktop/laptop Kindle app (not considered by Amazon as 'mobile'). The benefit of emailing MOBIs to Amazon is so your book is in the cloud and syncs your progress and notes to your mobile Kindles (eInk Kindles plus tablet/phone apps).
